Many of the eNetLearning appliations and Internet resources need the allowance of pop-ups for them to run properly.
To remedy this situation you must first recognize which browser you are using:
- Internet Explorer(the default browser for Microsoft)
- Safari(the default browser for Apple)
- Firefox
- Chrome
Each different browser has a different way to acheive allowance of pop-ups.
- Open Internet Explorer
- On the right-hand side of the browser click TOOLS.
- In the TOOLS area find/open INTERNET OPTIONS.
- At the top of INTERNET OPTIONS click/open the PRIVACY TAB.
- In the PRIVACY TAB find the POP-UP BLOCKER area and click/open the SETTINGS button.
- Within the SETTINGS dialogue box in the “Address of website to allow:” type the base of the website address in which you are trying to work.
- For Example:
- The DREAM website base address is http://platform.learning.com
- The eNetColorado base address is http://enetlearning.org
- This help website you are currently on the base address is http://help.enetcolorado.org
- The normal base address can be found by looking at your address (URL) on the website you are trying to function within and begins at the http:// and ends at .com or .org or .net or .edu
- For Example:
- After the base web address has been typed in the “Address of website to allow:” field click the ADD button.
- This should then allow pop-ups on the websites listed in the “Allowed sites” area.
- After this is done you may close the INTERNET OPTIONS dialogue box and continue your work within the browser.
- Open the Safari browser
- On the top right-hand side click the SETTINGS ICON (looks like a gear) which opens a drop down menu.
- Within the drop down menu click/open PREFERENCES which opens in another window.
- At the top the Preferences Box click the SECURITY TAB at the top.
- Make sure that fields are checked EXCEPT for the option BLOCK POP-UP WINDOWS.
- If checked – UNCHECK the option to BLOCK POP-UP WINDOWS.
- All other settings for Safari default to the correct settings.
- Open Firefox internet browser.
- On the top left hand side area on the browser click the TOOLS menu which will then show a drop down menu.
- From this drop down menu click OPTIONS and this will open a settings box with tabs.
- Within Options click/open the CONTENT TAB at the top.
- In the Content Tab click/open the first (top) EXCEPTIONS BUTTON.
- In the “Address of website:” field type in the base address (URL) of the website address in which you are trying to work
- For Example:
- The DREAM website base address is http://platform.learning.com
- The eNetColorado base address is http://enetlearning.org
- This help website you are currently on the base address is http://help.enetcolorado.org
- The normal base address can be found by looking at your address (URL) on the website you are trying to function within and begins at the http:// and ends at .com or .org or .net.Click ALLOW
- For Example:
- After this step you can click CLOSE / OK to close the dialogue/option box and continue your work within your browser
- Open Google Chrome
- On the top right-hand side of the browser click the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL GOOGLE BUTTON.
- This will open a menu -> find and open the SETTINGS option.
- This opens the SETTINGS screen.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and CLICK the link SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS
- Continue to scroll down the page slowly until you see the PRIVACY area.
- Under the PRIVACY area click/open the CONTENT SETTINGS
- This will open a dialogue box in front of the Settings area.
- While still in the CONTENT SETTINGS box scroll down and find the title POP-UPS.
- Under the POP-UP title click MANAGE EXCEPTIONS.
- In the HOSTNAME PATTERN type in the base address (URL) of the website address in which you are trying to work.
- For Example:
- The DREAM website base address is http://platform.learning.com
- The eNetColorado base address is http://enetlearning.org
- This help website you are currently on the base address is http://help.enetcolorado.org
- The normal base address can be found by looking at your address (URL) on the website you are trying to function within and begins at the http:// and ends at .com or .org or .net.Verify that the BEHAVOIR is set to ALLOW.
- For Example:
- click OK
- You may now close the dialogue boxes and continue working within your browser.
